Grade 8 & 9
Our Grade 8 and 9 learners form a small, combined high school class designed to bridge the important years between primary school and senior high school.
The smaller class environment allows our teachers to provide individual attention, academic support and guidance, while encouraging learners to become increasingly independent and responsible for their own learning. Working within a combined class also creates opportunities for collaboration, discussion and learning alongside peers at different stages of development.
These years are about more than academics. We focus on developing good study habits, confidence, organisation, critical thinking and personal responsibility, helping learners build the skills they will need as the demands of senior high school increase.
Our aim is to give each learner a strong and confident foundation for the next stage of their education — academically, socially and personally — while still allowing them to enjoy the supportive, familiar environment that makes Woodcrest special.
